![]() Walmart is paying for my PCTB exam as well, which I definitely can’t complain about. I’ve also met people who’ve had terrible coworkers, so, just to reiterate, this may not be your experience. I feel like they go above and beyond the rest of the Walmart structure to let the techs know when they’re doing a good job, and do their own diligently. They’re super awesome and our RPhs are great to work for. Managers will vary by Walmart, so YMMV on this next bit, but my coworkers rock. Sometimes, customers will call the pharmacy because they know someone will answer. The customers also expect the pharmacy employees to know just as much as every other kind of Walmart employee. ![]() One thing I definitely don’t like is our entire pharmacy system that thing was new when the wooly mammoth went extinct. Our pharmacy manager is really big on customer service he’s really pushing Moments of Care as an ideology. We don’t super follow the 15 minute break schedule, but we’re really understaffed at my pharmacy. In my area, staring pay for a Tech-in-Training is $14.50 an hour, and for a certified tech is $17.50 an hour. The pharmacy is much different than the rest of the store. Overall, it’s your typical big box corporate chain that will steal your soul and energy, but I’ve worked at worse and at least my boss doesn’t threaten me on a daily basis. They are also paying for you to go back to school online for free right now. ![]() They also pay for a teledoc service if you have their insurance and will cover your copays on it (I see a therapist for $0). Still, Walmart offers bonuses every quarter and they pay for your certification exam AND they reimburse you for license renewals. Honestly, it’s a very stressful place to work because the District Manager only cares about customer service and 9/10 people are your typical Karen’s who leave nasty surveys about how they had to wait two minutes in line. Now at my store we are not allowed to take breaks (even though they are mandatory) but you do get an hour lunch if you work over 6 hours. Now they are offering people with no experience or training that much. I was offered around $16/hr with 5 years experience and national certification.
